More on Halloween
I thought that I’d use writing about it as a way to remember some of the more estoric moments of the Halloween party. That, and I can point people at the site rather than continually writing the same thing over and over!
I met quite a few strange and friendly characters last night. One of my favourites was a girl called Catherine who very kindly shared a bottle of wine with me. She had a weird habit of rolling rollups, but then giving them away as she didn’t smoke. I suppose just having a habit of rolling is better than also smoking them though!
I’d also like to take time out to mention some of the dressings up people had undertaken. One guy had a cardboard sword through him. However, the funniest part about this was that he had put it on his righthand side, so everytime he took a drink it got in the way. The amount of time I heard him maligning this choice of side! There was also a guy dressed as a devil. Well more painted as one, cause he had the top half of his body painted red, which was rather effective. It got better when the paint started to crack, which gave the rather alarming look that his skin was falling off.
At about 2am I found myself in someones bed room who happened to have a drum kit. They were playing quite happily on the drums. Then they decided to teach someone else to play the drums. The girl who was learning was actually quite good, considering the time, although she had difficulty keeping the time completely steady! A very interesting time, especially when someone else arived and started playing Phantom of the Opera on a cheap synthesiser…
Later on in the evening, when most of the people had drifted off and the only people left were officially getting to the stage whereby they are “hardcore” one of the most strange events occured. We were standing on the dance floor, and this girl was staring into the rotating-disco-ball-thing. So I went over to see what she was doing. She looked at me and held her cupped hands out to me. She put them to my ear and then looked at me with a smile. Then she passed me the (nothing) cupped in her hands. We passed a few shocked looks at eachother and then I decided to give her the nothing back. She then threw it at one of my friends, who didn’t quite catch it, so she had to throw it a few more times.
We then wondered off into the kitchen for a bit. When we returned to the living room/decks room she was lying on the floor staring into the disco ball again, which had now been moved onto the floor. I went over and we regarded the ball for a while. It was getting late by this time, so I got up (as she was pretty absorbed in the ball) and finally got around to leaving
When I was walking back down my road, I noticed the birds were starting to sing and welcome the morning. So I went home and slept.
