I decided to have a quick mess around with the layout of the site. I’m not sure whether or not I’ll stick with this design, time will tell =)

It is a fixed width rather than fluid desgin. The last design was fluid, so I thought I’d try something different. There has alway been debate as to which is “better”; fixed-width or fluid. For a long time I’ve generally thought that fluid was best. However, seeing some of the fixed width designs that have been doing the rounds recently gave me some impetus to have a go at this fixed-width lark.

I think my main problem with this design is that it is much more similar to other weblog designs than my previous one, in that there are a lot of designs around right now with the “border around fixed-width page with a bar to the right” style to them. Don’t get me wrong, I do think that it is an attractive and usable design; I just always quite liked the fact my site looked a little bit different, even if my design wasn’t the best around.
