273 - Song of the Week
I’m going to try and post a song each week, because I like seeing what other people like. I find it a great way to find new bands as well. I’ll try and post some of my reasons for the choice with each song. I’ll probably leave the songs up for a week or so, depending on what sort of bandwidth drain it seems to be.
So, without further ado, this weeks song is:
I’m going to love you anyhow — Elliott Smith
She appears composed; so she is I suppose.
Who can really tell?
She shows no emotion at all, stares into space like a dead china doll.
I’m never gonna know you now, but I’m going to love you anyhow.
I’m never gonna know you now, but I’m going to love you anyhow.
This song is on Rhythmbox right now, and it’s inspired me to do Song of the Week, so it’s only right that it should be the first.
I first really started listening to Elliott Smith after he committed suicide last year. I hadn’t really heard much of his music before that; I’m not quite sure how I missed it because he’s a great song writer.
If you’ve got any of Smith’s music, I’m sure you’ve heard this; if you haven’t, have a listen on me.
