Autocompletion on Google. Pretty amazing stuff, I wonder when it will be turned on by default?
Gmail now does thumbnails of images that are attached to mails. It is all shaping up to be really nice, and I’m still using it for most of my email.
Finally, Phil Wilson has some cool information on how to make Firefox display text to the right of selected toolbar icons in Firefox. This is one thing that Epiphany has that I really like, so it’s good to have it in FF at last.
19 per cent said they have texted a partner to say “I love you” for the first time, but only one per cent have proposed via SMS.
Only one percent?! That implies that one in every hundred people would consider proposing, one of the most important personal questions you’ll ask in your life, via one of the most impersonal communications mediums. The mind boggles, it really does.
“dwn on 1 knee, drln. wll u marry me? (bk l8 2day, srry, ill gt milk)”
I did a bit of a redesign of dx13 today. I’m pleased with the result; it is a departure from my previous designs in that it isn’t black-on-white. I’m not quite sure whether the dx13 title on the picture should be changed to a similar brown to the text, though having it black does ensure it stands out. There are various other tweaks I’m thinking about, but I am going to leave things be.
J mentioned it in the sidebar: Bluefunk is coming to look somewhat like Muine. Is this intentional on my part? As with many things, in some ways it is, and in some ways it isn’t. Before I started work on Bluefunk, I used Muine. I believe Muine has a far better interface than iTunes, Rhythmbox et al. Jorn has really thought about how most people listen to music and reproduced it on a computer.
Congratulations on your storage upgrade from 2MB to 250MB!
Lots of love the Hotmail staff…
Congratulations?! Wtf are they congratulating me for? Their sudden realisation that 2MB is completely inadequate? Let’s be honest, with storage now at £1 per GB, they are spending a whole 25 pence on the space they are giving me now; not exactly a huge display of generosity.
Another instance of Microsoft trying to make themselves out as absolute legends and generous as hell, as opposed to the reality that they were suddenly not so far ahead of the curve as they like to believe…
