I bet that word bet isn’t either bold or italic… It’s weird. I did some experimenting in client-side javascript and I can get it to work when I use “a literal string”.replace(…) but not when I use a variable, like text.replace(…) with exactly the same text in the text variable and the same regular expression and replacement in the replace function. Rather annoying.
Oh my god, it worked… let’s try a link to Zeldman to see if I got that regular expression right… If that works, then I’m gonna put quite a few more more regexps up in the next few weeks. This will be good for you, dear reader, as it means I can write the entries easier so maybe I’ll post more. Also it’s now much easier to add links, so I can write in more links, which makes it more interesting to start here and link hop. Which I enjoy doing, and judging by the sucess of weblogging in general, lots of other people do too =)
It seems that AOL have decided to kill off Netscape. After the Microsoft settlement, most of us wondered whether AOL was going to do this. Some people speculated that AOL would keep Netscape going until the Mozilla Gecko engine was at a stage where they could easily embed it into their applications; indeed, it was already in the Mac versions of the software, one presumes as a trial to see what it would be like and whether their users would complain.
New Mozilla.org looks nice. Just thought I should put up a link for the previous post too, so you can start link hopping =) Stopdesign’s take on Netscape’s death.
Only online at work for a couple of weeks. So no real email or weblog access =)
